Movie by famous campus ballad writer wins world film award
( 2003-11-24 15:37) (CRIENGLISH.com)

Reports say the mainland's renowned campus songwriter Gao Xiaosong's movie has won one of the top prizes at the Lyon Asian Film Festival in France.

The movie, My Heart Flying, is Gao Xiaosong's second and has been applauded by local audiences and critics. The film won the top award in a competition section called New Asian Films.

All the films shown at the festival are artistic works from Asia. Famous Chinese directors Wong Kar Wai and Ang Lee have both taken part in the event before.

Gao Xiaosong says although some people will criticize his style, he is still confident about the domestic box office prospects.

His debut film, Where Have All the Flowers Gone was also an artistic experimental work that generated some controversy and disputes over his directing style.
