doctor at Wuhan People's Hospital holds a baby born yesterday with
help of fourth-generation test-tube baby technology. The boy's mother, 33, had difficulty bearing
children. Experts at the hospital removed part of the cytoplasm from her egg
cell and replaced it with cytoplasm from another woman. The egg
was successfully fertilized in a tube and put back into the mother's womb. Reportedly,
this is China's first successful human birth using the technology. [newsphoto]
