同事一伙人開車去吃午飯，男士們開一輛車，女士們坐另一輛車跟在后面。后面車?yán)锏呐俗匀蛔h論到前車上的男人們，說它們喜歡打球，喜歡吃 Pizza，凱瑟琳說了一句“One of them is rocking the cradle.”車上的人聽后大笑起來。我沒有理解她的意思，于是問她們說：“could you explain for me？”這下她們更樂了，不過還是向我解釋了這句話的意思。
原來“rocking the cradle”的本意是指搖動搖籃，引伸為指兩個年齡相差很大的人在一起，這就和俚語中的另一個詞語“May-December”很接近。也就是說她們認(rèn)為，前面車?yán)锏囊晃荒惺亢退呐椋谀挲g上相差很懸殊。
