日本政府31日公布，日本4月失業率下降至4.4%，達到自1998年12月以來的最低水平。該數據優于預期。此前經濟學家預期日本4月失業率將與3月持平于4.5%。外電報道如下：Japan's unemployment rate fell to 4.4 percent in April, the government announced Tuesday.
The unemployment rate fell 0.1 point from 4.5 percent in March. The latest result suggested improvement in the labor market as the nation's economy continued a mild recovery.
The April figure was also better than the 4.5 percent forecast by economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires.
Newswire表示“新聞專線”，道瓊斯新聞專線（道瓊斯通訊社）則是業內權威新聞機構。
據悉，日本4月總失業人數也比2004年同期減少25萬人，至310萬人，并為連續第23個月出現下降。日本失業人數的穩步減少顯示出日本勞動力市場已隨著該國的經濟而展開逐步復蘇。
