Ryan Phillippe wants estranged wife Reese Witherspoon back.

The Legally Blonde actress filed for divorce in October after seven years of marriage amid rumours Ryan had cheated on her, but now the Crash actor is planning on winning her back.

A source told Life and Style Weekly magazine: "Ryan misses her.

"He's been calling Reese to tell her how he's never loved anyone as much as her."

Although Ryan desperately wants to give his marriage another go, Reese has allegedly been growing close to Jake Gyllenhaal on the set of their new film Rendition.

An on-set source said: "Jake stopped by her trailer and waited for her. They laughed and talked, then he left."

It is believed the 30-year-old actress has banned all mobile phones and cameras from the set to stop stories about her and Jake getting out.

Reese cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for her and Ryan's split in the divorce papers and has asked for custody of the couple's two children - seven-year-old daughter Ava and three-year-old son Deacon - but with visitation rights granted to her husband.

It was reported that Ryan had been having an affair with 24-year-old Australian actress Abbie Cornish after the pair met on the set of their film Stop Loss.

However, both deny the allegations.
