Hilary Duff has confirmed that her split from Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden was amicable and that she is looking forward to jumping into the dating scene.

The couple split up in November after more than two years together and Hilary told On Air with Ryan Seacrest recently: "There was nothing - no fight, no he did this, I did this. It was just time for people to move on and do different things."

"I had a really great relationship with him, and we still have a great relationship, which is really good and unusual. He’s a good person, and I always will care about him."

She added regarding her new single status: "Dating is fun. I kind of feel like a guy, like I can do it now. But I feel kind of wrong at the same time."

"I've never gotten to date before, so it's kind of exciting. I've always just had a boyfriend, you know? I'm young!"
