LOS ANGELES? - Daily Variety said the New Zealand-born "Gladiator" and "Cinderella Man" star would receive around 20 million dollars for the film, which will be titled "Nottingham" and is expected to start filming in late 2007 or early 2008.

While there have been several famous Hollywood versions of Robin Hood, the new film promises a fresh twist to the story about the famous English outlaw who robs the rich to give to the poor.

The movie is based on the premise that Robin Hood was less virtuous and the sheriff, often depicted as his ruthless adversary, more noble than previously depicted. The story also involves a love triangle between Robin Hood, Maid Marion and Nottingham's sheriff, Variety reported.
