LOS ANGELES - The violent epic "300" leads the pack of nominees for the MTV Movie Awards with five mentions, followed by "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" with four nominations.

Both films will vie for best movie honors with "Blades of Glory," "Borat" and "Little Miss Sunshine."

The 16th annual awards show, hosted by Sarah Silverman, will air live for the first time, at 8 p.m. EST on June 3 from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles.

"300" also received nominations for stars Gerard Butler (best performance), Lena Headey (breakthrough performance) and Rodrigo Santoro (best villain) and also was cited for best fight (Butler vs. "the Uber Immortal").
