Los Angeles - The Spice Girls have freshened up their repertoire.

With a reunion tour coming up in December and a greatest-hits album coming out next month, the re-formed girl group is also releasing a new single titled "Headlines," described by Geri Halliwell (aka Ginger Spice) as a "big love song."

"It's a Spice Girl classic. We are so proud of it," Halliwell told Britain's GMTV.

The song, due for release on Nov. 19, is the first new material the group has produced since Halliwell quit in 1998. It was recorded last spring and will be the official song for the BBC's annual Children in Need campaign.

Halliwell said she initially started work on the single with Emma Bunton (aka Baby Spice) and the band's former collaborators, and the other members "chipped in later adding lyrics."

"We started putting words down before we even had the finalized yes from everyone," Halliwell said.

Though Halliwell was the first to depart the group to pursue a solo career, she was enthusiastic about hitting the road with her fellow Spice Girls once more.

"It's getting to revisit something, a little bit older, a little bit wiser. It's so amazing," she said. "It is like waking up and you get a second chance to be something that is so enjoyable."

Earlier this week, the Girls proved they still hold huge appeal for the masses by selling out their Dec. 15 London concert within 38 seconds. Promoters have since added several additional London dates in an effort to meet demand.

Dates in the U.S. and Canada have also sold out and the group has announced plans to add more North American dates, with tickets expected to go on sale next week.

The tour is slated to kick off in Vancouver on Dec. 2, with performances scheduled in San Jose, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Cologne, Madrid, London, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Sydney, Cape Town and Buenos Aires.
