CCTV 4's travelogue program Home Faraway has launched a 100-episode special series called Journey to the Border Area, which is now on air from Monday to Friday.

The shooting crew have visited and will travel to nine provinces and autonomous regions, which form China's borderline and are home to more than 30 ethnic groups, including Guangxi Zhuang, Tibet, Xinjiang Uygur and Inner Mongolia autonomous regions, and Yunnan, Gansu, Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces.

The series offers viewers an in-depth travel experience with a comprehensive introduction to the natural landscape, folk customs, local cuisines, ethnic clothes and arts of the border areas. It also shows the local residents' passion for life, courage to fight poverty and their hopes for peaceful lives.
