Technovator International Ltd, a provider of building energy management systems and solutions services on the mainland, said comprehensive energy-saving solutions are expected to be adopted more broadly in the country riding on the government's firm determinations in achieving sustainable growth.

The rising awareness of building energy efficiency and government support on green economy has driven an escalating number of projects including government buildings, schools, hospitals, as well as commercial chains to adopt comprehensive energy-saving solutions to save cost and protect the environment, according to Xu Zhenxi, a general manager from the energy saving investment center of the group.

Technovator's major energy-saving products that could integrate various elements in a building and provide intelligent control over various electrical systems to optimize the use of power and achieve energy conservation has been widely adopted by buildings in first-tier to second- and third-tier cities.

A number of local Chinese governments have also been in touch with the group to discuss tailor-made energy solutions for their respective cities, Xu told a group of Hong Kong media during the trip to its headquarters in Beijing on Friday.

The country's ongoing five-year blueprint aims at generating a total output of 4.5 trillion yuan from the energy-saving and environmental protection industries by 2015, among which the domestic energy-saving service sector is expected to create a market of 300 billion yuan at that time, equivalent to saving as much as 60 million tons of raw coal annually.

In the face of pollution issues and pressures to conserve energy, the Chinese government, on one hand, has continually adopted tightening measures on energy consumption in the territory. It has also provided more support and subsidies for energy-saving initiatives, including favorable tax exemptions as well as generous fiscal incentive funds to back the energy-saving reconstruction projects on the mainland, which has also promoted local governments and relevant projects to tap in the advanced energy-saving solutions, according to Xu.

Backed by research capabilities and talent platform from its Shanghai-listed parent Tsinghua Tongfang Co as well as Tsinghua University, the group offers energy-saving solutions for building environments around the world under two brands - "Techcon" in China and "Distech Controls" in overseas markets.

As the domestic market player in providing energy-saving management systems to the country's fragmented energy saving sector, larger players including Technovator have been constantly selected as the supplier for high profile projects, particularly those involving the government.

The Hong Kong-listed company achieved net profit of $5.69 million for the six months ended June 30, 2012, up 42.9 percent over the $3.98 million for same period a year earlier, Technovator told Hong Kong stock exchange in August, 2012. Gross profit margin remained as high as 40 percent, according to the statement.
