Xi heads north as Britain seeks Chinese cash for regeneration
習(xí)到訪英國北部 英方尋求中方投資振興北部

Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Britain will end on Friday with the announcement of new air links between China and Manchester, the northern English city at the heart of efforts to rebalance the British economy.
中國國家主席習(xí)近平對英國的國事訪問將于周五結(jié)束，屆時兩國將宣布開啟中國和曼徹斯特之間的航線，曼徹斯特是英國經(jīng)濟(jì)再平衡戰(zhàn)略中的核心城市。

Xi will be accompanied by British Prime Minister David Cameron on a tour of the city designed to attract Chinese infrastructure investment at the end of a four-day visit that sealed 40 billion pounds ($62 billion) of business deals.
卡梅倫首相將陪同習(xí)主席參觀曼徹斯特，并吸引中方在基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施方面進(jìn)行投資。本次為期4天的訪問，雙方簽署了價值400億英鎊的商業(yè)合作協(xié)議。

Language tips：

標(biāo)題中的regeneration除了指經(jīng)濟(jì)方面的“復(fù)興”以外，還可以指皮膚再生，不少護(hù)膚品的廣告中就經(jīng)常會用到這個詞。習(xí)主席提出的“實現(xiàn)中華民族偉大復(fù)興”的英文表述the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation中的rejuvenation也有“復(fù)興”的意思，只不過，regeneration強(qiáng)調(diào)的是重建曾經(jīng)的繁榮狀態(tài)，而rejuvenation強(qiáng)調(diào)的是通過引入新的制度或舉措，使整個組織或制度更有活力、更有效率。

之前說過簽署協(xié)議的表達(dá)有很多種，這里又出現(xiàn)一個seal 40 billion pounds of business deals，常見的更簡短的表達(dá)是seal the deal。Seal最基本的意思是“封印、印鑒”，所以，在合約上蓋章封印，自然就是簽約成交的意思。
