 求救呼叫 mayday call

當(dāng)?shù)貢r(shí)間6月1日晚法航一架滿載216名乘客從巴西里約熱內(nèi)盧機(jī)場(chǎng)飛往巴黎的戴高樂(lè)機(jī)場(chǎng)的A330客機(jī)在起飛三個(gè)半小時(shí)后失事，機(jī)上包括機(jī)組人員在內(nèi)的228人疑全部遇難，死難人數(shù)之多為法航75年歷史之最。飛機(jī)失事原因目前仍在調(diào)查中。

一場(chǎng)風(fēng)暴怎么會(huì)讓由三名經(jīng)驗(yàn)豐富的飛行員操控的現(xiàn)代化飛機(jī)沒(méi)來(lái)得及發(fā)出求救呼叫就墜毀，這很讓專家們困惑。
上面的報(bào)道中，mayday call就是“求救呼叫”，也可以用distress call/signal來(lái)表示。Mayday is an emergency code word used internationally as a distress signal in voice procedure radio communications. It derives from the French venez m'aider, or m'aidez, meaning “(you) come help me”（mayday是國(guó)際通用的無(wú)線電語(yǔ)音求救呼叫用語(yǔ)，來(lái)源于法語(yǔ)中的venez m'aider或m'aidez（發(fā)音相似），意為“來(lái)幫我”）。
既然mayday是用于語(yǔ)音求救呼叫的，那么如果無(wú)法實(shí)現(xiàn)語(yǔ)音求救，我們可以用什么標(biāo)志來(lái)發(fā)出信號(hào)呢？對(duì)，就是SOS。這個(gè)字母組合是國(guó)際莫爾斯電碼求救信號(hào)，并非任何單詞的縮寫(xiě)。In International Morse code, the distress signal (? ? ? — — — ? ? ?), three dits form the letter S, and three dahs make the letter O, so "SOS" became an easy way to remember the correct order of the dits and dahs（在國(guó)際莫爾斯電碼中，求救信號(hào)里的三個(gè)點(diǎn)就是字母S，而三條短線則是字母O，這樣SOS就成了記憶正確求救信號(hào)順序的一個(gè)好辦法）。
另外，SOS不論從哪個(gè)角度看都是SOS，因此也從某種程度上增加了求救成功的幾率，這個(gè)求救信號(hào)的廣為人知也不是沒(méi)有道理的。
