A host of music stars joined hands to record a song entitled "Hai Zi" ("Child") for a public service announcement that calls on Chinese citizens to make an effort to rescue kidnapped children or child beggars, Sohu.com reports.

Among the singers spotted in a Beijing studio where they recorded the song were pop duo Yu Quan, singer Han Geng, Anson Hu Yanbin, He Jie and Angela An Youqi.

The song, produced by singer Anson Hu, has received widespread attention and support from all walks of life. Many singers, actors and experts from different fields have heeded the call to help rescue kidnapped children.

The song was recorded in studios in Beijing, Changsha, Taipei and Tokyo.

Earlier, some Chinese parents launched an internet campaign for a nationwide appeal for help in locating missing children advertised online. This February, a Chinese microblog account made waves by successfully helping a young father find his six-year-old son who had been kidnapped three years earlier.
