Celebrated soprano raises her voice in Beijing church

Grammy-winning soprano Sumi Jo gave a recital on Oct 9 at the Wangfujing Church in Beijing, as part of the 14th Beijing Music Festival.
The program consisted of works from eras ranging from Baroque to Romanticism, including those by Vivaldi, Mozart and Mahler.
Jo, who was born in Seoul, has performed around the world and won numerous awards, including the Grammy award for best opera recording for her Die Frau ohne Schatten with Sir Georg Solti.
The Beijing Music Festival has presented a concert at the Wangfujing Church every year since 2006.
