Hani's New Year (“Ten-Month New Year”)
Updated: 2009-11-17 11:19 Hani's New Year (“Ten-Month New Year”) Date: October 31, 2009 Venue: Lüchun County, Yuanjiang County and Honghe County, Honghe Prefecture Also renowned as Ten-Month New Year, Hani’s New Year is the grandest festival of Hanis, during the occasion, the young men will beat drums in the village day and night, which improves the festive atmosphere. Each village will hold the “Long Strreet Feast” to entertain guests from everywhere. Hani style dishes are arranged from the head to the end of the street and the hospitable host will let you sit, drinking, singing, beating spinning top and dancing bamboo tube dance together, the festival will last for three days and nights.
