On October 21, the Hefei government and Anhui Meteorological Bureau signed an agreement to jointly build a meteorological Science and Technology Innovation Park in Binhu district.
As a major project of Hefei city's disaster prevention and mitigation education, the park will also play an important role in the city's meteorological education system.
Major parts of the park will include a disaster prevention and mitigation commend center; a meteorological science museum; and groups of systems to better monitor, forecast and evaluate meteorological conditions.
The two parties have also agreed on a series of cooperation efforts to reach the shared goal of meteorological modernization in Anhui province. For instance, they have agreed to collaborate in enhancing the meteorological disaster prevention service in rural areas through various means.
They will also work together to build a very complex public emergencies information alarm system for Hefei city.
