Abstract：
The paper gives an overall analysis of the regional economic development pattern, the changes of regional disparity, the development trend of regional industrial structure as well as the development trend of regional space structure in 2002. The research findings show that in 2002 the regional disparity between China's eastern and western regions kept widened, but the widening trend had been further reduced. What merits attention is that since western development, the growth speed of the central region had been lagging behind other regions for two consecutive years. In 2003, the regional economic development in China will witness an overall growth.
