Strengthen Party Building and Party’s Leading Role to Promote Rural Governance (No.84, 2021)

Abstract: To promote the effects of rural governance, the role of grassroots Party organizations in rural areas needs to be given full play. The advancement of Party building and Party’s leading role is an inevitable necessity for following the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, remaining true to the Party’s original aspiration, addressing problems in grassroots social governance and promoting modernization of grassroots governance. However, some issues remain to be addressed. For example, related departments still need to raise their awareness on social governance with Party building and Party’s leading role at the core, improve organizational guarantee, further innovation of mechanisms, and enhance working capacity in practices. In the new era and in the work of boosting rural revitalization across the board, efforts are needed to further make Party building play a leading role in rural governance, give full play to the role of grassroots Party organizations through overall coordination among Party members, villagers and rural enterprises to develop joint forces in rural governance, translate Party’s strengths in political, organizational and mass work into governance edges and develop a new model of rural governance based on collaboration, co-governance and common benefits.
