The top five runners of the 2013 Fubon Taipei Marathon have been invited to the 2014 Xiamen International Marathon which will kick off on Jan 2.

Participants can register online, but the organizers have set a limit on the number of runners. A total number of 46500 runners took part in this year’s competition – and the limit was reached two weeks after the organizing committee opened registration. The event attracted runners from 48 countries and regions around the world.

The Fubon event is cosponsored by the Taipei municipal government and the Chinese Taipei Road Running Association. It will include 9 km, 1.0975 km and 42.195 km races, and also a "Fun Run" of 3 km, which aims to promote public participation in sport.
