The Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone (PCPZ) should strengthen financial services for Taiwan, according to Fan Wenzhong, director of the International department of the China Banking Regulatory Commission.

Financing institutions in Pingtan comprehensive experimental zone are expected to be further improved, Wang Maochang, deputy director of PCPZ’s administrative committee, said.

Pingtan will establish financial corporate institutions in the hope of attracting Taiwanese banks to set up branches in Pingtan, he added.

Fan suggested that Pingtan build information sharing platforms, financial information bases and a service mechanism and improve its commercial environment and policies to enhance financial services for Taiwan.
