Total donations from Fujian companies and entrepreneurs to quake-stricken Yunnan province have exceeded 15 million yuan ($2.4 million) as of Aug 9, said the Fujian Association of Industry and Commerce.

The donation includes about 5 million yuan in cash and quake relief goods worth 10 million yuan.

A 6.5-magnitude earthquake hit Ludian county in Yunnan on Aug 3, killing more than 600 people as of Aug 8, with more than 100 remaining missing.

Fujian’s chamber of commerce in Yunnan province has been actively mobilizing Fujian’s enterprises to show their love to quake victims. It organized a rescue team the very next day and sent more than 1,000 pieces of clothes to quake zones.

The Fujian Party Committee and government have jointly made donations totaling 10 million yuan in cash and 1.5 million yuan worth of quake relief products.
