Fujian province will open the country's first amphibious airport, a key cooperation between Fujian and the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, hxnews.com reported on Dec 9.

Approved by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, Fuqing General Airport, located in Fujian general aviation industrial park in Fuqing county, Fujian province will have 1,800-meter land runways and 1,200-meter water airstrips.

Apart from the airport, the industrial park also focuses on aircraft production with the first plane slated to finish production in 2016. Passengers will be able to travel by Fujian-made aircraft.
