The Pingtan Association of Cross-Straits Cultural Exchanges was established on Sept 23. It is a nonprofit, non-governmental organization that aims to spread traditional Chinese culture and extend cultural exchanges on both sides of the Straits.

The Pingtan Association of Cross-Straits Cultural Exchanges was established voluntarily by Chinese cultural and art workers and includes more than 60 members from across the country, including many from Taiwan.

Mei Yu, chairman of the association, revealed that the group had reached cooperation agreements with many organizations to carry out cultural activities and develop cultural industries.
