Lin also called on the financial industry to play an active role in boosting the development of Pingtan's real economy as the city continues with its drive to transform and upgrade its traditional industries.

During the conference, a total of 20 financial service companies in the city were awarded honorary titles for their prominent performances in the financial sector.

Pingtan is also set to prioritize the development of the tourism, shipping logistics, construction, wind power, exhibitions and information technology industries over the next four years, according to the municipal government's industrial development plan released on Feb 28.
