Barren rocks and tailings: It is estimated that stripped barren rocks existing at open mining fields amounts to over 93 million cubic meters, weighing about 254 million tons, and at least 1.4 million tons of copper mineral were wasted during mining.

There?are 182,000 tons of oxidized ore in the piles. Each year 40,000 tons of barren rocks from deep copper mines are carried to an open mining pit.
