Colorful Guizhou Airlines, based in Guizhou province, recently reached a 10-year, $56-million deal with GE Aviation, one of the world's top aircraft engine suppliers with HQ in Evendale, Ohio in the US for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of its seven Embraer 190 aircraft.
In commenting on the agreement, Kevin McAllister, president of GE Aviation Services, said, "We're pleased that Colorful Guizhou Airlines selected GE as its MRO provider. Our service team will support the airline and ensure its aircrafts retain their excellent operating condition while focusing on lowering the cost of ownership, which will help make Colorful Guizhou successful in the long run."
Colorful Guizhou,with HQ in the province's capital city-Guiyang, is a joint-venture of the Guizhou Industrial Investment Group (with a 95-percent stake) and the Weining county Construction Investment Group and is the province's first carrier. It had its maiden flight on Dec 31, 2015 and expects to operate trunk and regional routes for passengers and freight.
