Rongjiang county in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture is adjacent to Hunan and Guangxi provinces. It has played an important role due to its geographic location since ancient times.
Occupying a land area of 3,316 km2, the county is home to 350,000 people, with 85.14 percent of them belonging to the Dong, Miao, Sui and Yao ethnic groups.
Rongjiang enjoys a mild climate and abundant rainfall. It is the "priority development zone of tourism in Guizhou" and the "home of gymnastics in Guizhou". It boasts picturesque natural landscapes, well-preserved ancient buildings, exotic ethnic villages and convenient transportation.
