Lichun, one of the 24 solar terms in the traditional Chinese lunar calendar that represents the beginning of spring, came on February 4, 2015. However, low temperatures under 10 C are going to last for the following week in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, said the Guiyang weather bureau.

The decrease in temperature has increased the pressure on gas supplies. On February 3, use of liquefied natural gas reached a new record of 12.3 million cubic meters, an increase of 12 percent compared with that of last year. Thanks to pipeline gas from?Myanmar and the completion of "coal-to-gas" replacements in 2014, the gas supply has been secured.

The China-Myanmar Oil and Gas Pipeline, opened on January 27, has provided a reliable guarantee for Guiyang residents. The natural gas will protect the local environment and improve people's lives.

By September 7, 2014, Guiyang had already completed 650,000 "coal-to-gas" replacements, eliminating coal from Guiyang life.
