When the city of Guiyang, Guizhou province held its Party Standing Committee meeting recently, the director of the Guiyang investment promotion bureau, Huang Chenghong, told the gathering, "We have to pay attention to innovation if we want to improve industry and change," referring to the city's desire be an innovator.
Huang, who is also head of the city's Exhibition Economy Promotion Office, noted that the key to becoming an innovative city is a different mindset and authorities paying more attention to innovative resources and attracting talented people as well as investment, and developing research institutes, as well as science, technology and entrepreneurship.
He concluded by saying, "Guiyang should rely on big data to attract business and investment and give priority to highland tourism, highland agriculture, modern manufacturing, and modern services," and keep on exploring with an innovative concept, and a greener, more open, and sharing society.
