Hebei has abundant animal resources with 137 breeds under State and local protection including two pheasant species as well a swan, the Asiatic Leopard and the ferret.
To protect its resources, the province has built 15 natural reserves and China's largest safari park in Qinhuangdao in 1995, which has nearly 200 breeds and more than 5,000 animals including tigers, lions and elephants. |
