A couple in Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei province, donated organs from their 2-year-old daughter who had died of congenital heart disease, hebnews.cn reported on Feb 24.
The girl's father, surnamed Ning, 35, a factory migrant worker, said his daughter had the disease after she was born.
The girl caught a cold during the Spring Festival holiday early this month, and the cold led to a lung infection, which put the girl in a coma before she died.
On Feb 22, the girl's corneas, liver and kidneys were donated to four patients.
Wang Yanjing, the organ-donation coordinator at Hebei Medical University, said that the girl is the youngest organ donor in the province to date. |
