Qingchui Peak in Chengde was listed as one of China 10 most beautiful Danxia sites at the third China Danxia Cultural Tour Festival held on August 2.
Located in the East Chengde Mountain Resort, the 596 meter Qingchui Peak, named by Kangxi Emperor(1662—1722),, resembles a club. Danxia terrain is made up of red-colored sandstones from the Cretaceous era. The landforms look very much like karst topography.
This year's festival was held by the China Danxia World Natural Heritage Protection Committee, aiming to promote the China Danxia heritage brand.
