The Chinese badminton championship hosted by Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, attracted more than 500 Chinese competitors from eight countries, Baotou Daily reported on Aug 17.

Jointly hosted by the Sports Bureau of Baotou and the Baotou Sports Federation, the two-day championship started on Aug 16 at Baotou Olympic Sports Center. Former head coach of the national badminton team Wang Wenjiao, world badminton champion Wang Pengren and Song Youping attended the opening ceremony and delivered their best wishes to the competitors.
