The city of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, launched its online public service platform on Tencent's apps WeChat, Mobile QQ and Tencent News on Oct 19.

The online platform, which is the first of its kind in Jiangsu, is a specific application of "Internet Plus". It can provide 11 public services for Wuxi residents including traffic queries, weather forecasts, and online payments.

Several government officials and Tencent staff attended the launch ceremony.

"The government will continue deepening cooperation with Tencent and launch more public service projects covering the fields of transportation, healthcare, education and culture," said Zhang Keping, director of the city's information and radio administration bureau.

Gu Haijun, operations director of WeChat, welcomed the introduction of more quality public service projects to the WeChat platform. He expects the service platform to bring convenience to local people.
