An examination panel from the environmental protection bureau, commission of rural affairs and urban and rural environment guidance center of Suzhou city has finished an acceptance test on 33 villages vying for the provincial-level eco-village title.

The visiting team inspected domestic sewage treatment facility, ecological farms, resettlement communities and renovation sites in those villages and gave acknowledgements of progress made in enhancing ecological environment and sanitation in those rural areas.

Those villages were also asked to meet higher requirements in building distinctive rural ecological culture by the team entrusted by the Environmental Protection Department of Jiangsu Province.

As of the end of 2012, two villages in Zhangjiagang had gained the national-level eco-village title, 84 the provincial-level title and 13 city-level title in Suzhou.
