More than 1,000 overseas scientists from 88 organizations have joined the HOME Program – Help Our Motherland through Elite Intellectual Resources from Overseas – since the program started in 2004, according to news released at the China international scientific communication and talents cooperation conference held in Zhangjiagang of Jiangsu province on September 12, 2013.

The program has become an important way to recruit excellent overseas scientists to serve China.

After the opening ceremony, scientists held forums focusing on six themes – new energy and new material, modern agriculture, energy conservation and environmental protection, biological medicine, IT and equipment manufacturing.

A Nobel Prize in Physics recipient, members of the US National Academy of Sciences and other famous scientists attended the discussion, giving suggestions not only on international scientific communication and talent cooperation, but also on scientific talent recruiting and industrial transformation in Zhangjiagang.
