Jilin province is moving westward with its industrial check and reached the city of Songyuan, a key city in the middle part of the province, by June 9, with a team led by the head of the provincial Party committee, Bayinchaolu, who got a look at the backbone industries - oil and gas, chemical engineering, agricultural products, food processing, trade and tourism.

The city is starting 293 large projects this year, at a total cost of 104 billion yuan ($17 billion), with the focus on urban infrastructure and livelihood and helping local enterprises save energy, improve technology, do new product R&D, and expand its market shares in China. In infrastructure, one major project involves an underground pipe system that takes into consideration overall city planning and real estate development and water supply.

The city is located in China's corn belt and has abundant agricultural resources, which is good for agricultural product processing, so the team spoke about intelligent improvements, new business models, expanded industrial chains and added value.
