Foreign art work at NE China Agriculture Expo

For this year's 14th Agriculture Exposition, in the city of Changchun, Jilin province, Aug 14-23 at the Changchun Agriculture Expo Garden, the organizers have announced that they have chosen 32 sculptures from different countries as a highlight, according to a local report of Aug 5.
They explained that they selected the sculptures from more than 700 entries of artists in more than four dozen countries.
One Russian sculptor, in explaining his work said, "I made my sculpture for a month and it is in a romantic style", then, when asked about his impression of Changchun, replied, "I like the nice weather and people here, and I enjoy working here."
The theme of this year's expo is agricultural culture and promoting technology so the sculptures are expected to reflect that, and include "Green-thinking", "Dreams that link us", "Harvest day", and "The tree of life" to connect Chinese agriculture with that of the world.
In commenting on the event, Gao Yuehua, vice-director of the garden, said, "The sculptures will be on permanent display at the Expo Garden."
