Jilin eyes extensive cooperation with US

A Jilin province official said on August 31 that Jilin will increase cooperation with the US in high-end manufacturing and services.

Jilin province attached great importance to the trade and cooperation with US, Chen Weigeng, head of the executive committee of China-Northeast Asia Expo, said in a speech at the China Jilin-American Industrial Cooperation and Project Matchmaking Conference held in Changchun, Northeast China’s Jilin province, on August 31.
Chen briefed Jilin’s current economic conditions and industrial development to those present at the conference and said he hoped that Jilin and the US will see more bilateral trade and cooperation exchanges and the two parties will strengthen cooperation in such fields as auto, chemicals, medical and health care, agricultural products processing, high-end equipment manufacturing, modern services and tourism.
Wen Siguo, consul general for the United States at Shenyang; and Lester Ross, vice chairman of American Chamber of Commerce in China, were also present at the conference. Founded in 1920, the American Chamber of Commerce in China is a non-profit organization that aims to promote economic, trade, commerce and investment links between China and US.
The participants discussed possible cooperation opportunities in the fields of equipment manufacturing, agricultural products processing, medicine and medical devices, and modern services.
Siping city, Jilin province and the American Chamber of Commerce in China inked a strategic framework at the meeting.
