Trendy wedding in Jilin: Short films telling a love story

You may think that the expression, "Our love is like a movie", is far from our daily lives, but, these days it seems strangely close as increasing numbers of young people in Jilin province try to film their love lives, reports chinajilin.com.cn, on Nov 6.
This trend is obviously a direct result of the explosion in multimedia technology and the younger generation's pursuit of a personalized life, in this case a wedding, with many people saying that it gives them a star feeling. For example, there's 28-year-old Linlin (pseudonym), in the city of Changchun, who came up with the idea of making just such a film recently with her boyfriend, and says that they're doing the screenplay now to "tailor it" to them, adding that she is studying screenwriting at school.

Not everyone has a major in this field, so, it's difficult, but fortunately there are wedding services to lend a hand, as according to Ding Guoli, who works for a studio, and says, "Making a short love film is really trendy and a real boom in the wedding business and people are pursuing their own personality today."
Ding then goes on to explain, "It's not just the short films, it can also be seen in the various details, such as wedding candy with cartoons of their own image on a box, handmade invitations, special additions to the wedding ceremony."

These do, of course, come at a cost, Ding continues, and are not cheap and easy, with starting prices of a short wedding movie running to more than 4,000 yuan ($630), and a really good one can cost more than 10,000 yuan, and take at least a month to make.
