The application to construct a Dandong Port Dadonggang ore berth with a tonnage of 200,000 tons was officially approved by the National Development and Reform Committee on Sept 26. The approval signifies that Dandong Port has become a state-level port in China.
With the 20,000-ton professional ore berth, Dandong Port will attract more cargo and vastly improve its competitiveness. The berth is expected be put into use in the end of 2013 and have a total investment of 2.2 billion yuan ($350 million).
