Sinohydro Bureau 14 Co's construction of the Moragahakanda Dam in Sir Lanka has reached another milestone. At 16:10 (local time) on Nov 21, 2016, its first generator rotor was lifted and installed.

The rotor is 5.1 meters tall, with a diameter of 3.15 meters and weighs approximately 40 tons.

Before the installation, Sinohydro's employees conducted thorough inspections of the equipment and made full preparations for any possible situations that could arise. Combined with their concerted effort, this guaranteed all the steps could be done in one go.

The installation was witnessed by all the project participants and reported on by Sri Lankan TV stations.
