STECOL Corporation -- a subsidiary of POWERCHINA -- signed a contract to build a water pump station in Tanzania in East Africa on Nov 24.

The project is located in the urban area of the city of Kigoma in Tanzania, adjacent to the two highway projects currently under construction by STECOL.

The main construction of the project includes the water pump station, pipelines, maintenance of access roads and the installation of other auxiliary facilities.

Tanzania's Ministry of Water commissioned the project, which has a construction schedule of 12 months and an additional 12-month maintenance contract.

It is an important local project and after completion will greatly improve the urban water supply in Kigoma.
