It is an ink- washed painting on silk, 82.5 cm high and 32.5 cm wide, created by Dong Qichang at 55 years old in the 37th year of Emperor Wanli's reign in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1609).

With just a few strokes, the painters sketched the cliffs, peaks, hillocks, rocks, trees and streams of small Kunshan Mountain. It looks artistic and elegant. As it is a free-style painting, the small Kunshan Mountain in the painting is taller, larger and steeper and the houses, rocks and trees are exaggerated and simple.

The painting is now found at the Palace Museum.
