Shanxi province’s finance department spent 130 million yuan in 2012, on its development zones to take advantage of any and all industrial opportunities.
The province has 25 economic and technological development zones in all, three of them at the national level, and 22 at provincial level. They serve as points of support for provincial development and attract competitive enterprises to invest in the province. They also play an important role as leaders and demonstration units in provincial economic transformation and reforms.
