The 2nd Shanxi Seedling & Greening Materials Exhibition kicked off on March 9, in the China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center, in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, with more than 200 companies from all over the country attending the trade fair.
Goldenrain trees from Hebei province, flowering shrubs from Liaoning province and Salix leucopithecia from Shanxi were displayed in the 5,000 sq-ms exhibition hall, showing off an abundant spring atmosphere there. The various nursery stocks, garden machinery, fertilizer and other greening materials will provide a reliable guarantee for the upcoming large-scale afforestation in the province this spring.
A seedling provider from Taian County, Liaoning province, He Haibo, said that Shanxi is one of the largest supply locations for green seedlings in North China. "This time, we brought 16 kinds of flowering shrubs, and I believe there will be a huge market for that" he added.
Spokesman Zhang Qinzhi said that the exhibition would contribute to the building of a seedling production & marketing system focusing on the combination of governmental regulations and market operations through timely communications of supply & demand information for seedling production units.
The exhibition, sponsored by Shanxi's provincial forestry and seedling management station, is the largest specialized exhibition in the seedling industry.
