State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Company added 2 billion yuan ($313.2 million) to upgrade the province’s rural?electric network, in addition to the 1.39 billion yuan already spent this year, according to the company.
The money will be spent on 106 projects in 95 counties to improve the structure of rural power networks and increase the reliability of rural power supplies.
Meanwhile, transformer substations which cannot satisfy the increasing demand for electricity will be expanded or upgraded.
