The government of Shouyang county signed an agreement with Shanxi Transportation Holdings Group and Shanxi Road and Bridge Construction Co on June 13 to build Shanxi transport and logistics park in the area.
The park is expected to cover 400 hectares near the East Second Ring Road in local Pingtyou town and attract investment of 3 billion yuan ($468.89 million).
The project marks a move by Shouyang county to integrate more into the metropolitan area of Taiyuan city, capital of Shanxi province, a move which it is hoped will help boost local economic growth and industrial development.
