Chen Jiayi, president of the Shiyan municipal Chinese people's political consultative conference, investigated the construction site of the Wudang Mountains Airport on Dec 11, encouraging the workers to strengthen quality checks and safety supervision as well as accelerate construction and reduce the impact on nearby residents.

To date, construction work including 19 million cubic meters of earth rock has finished. To keep airport operations safe and stable, the southeastern end of the airport runway will be prolonged by 400 meters.
